AASAR is committed to providing search and rescue assets of the highest quality to public safety agencies in Texas.  Our responders are certified by national agencies and are committed to enhancing their skills through continuing education.

AASAR was created in response to the need for high quality volunteer search and rescue services in the South Central Texas area in the spring of 2008.  The team was incorporated in the State of Texas in July 2008 and received 501(c)(3) status in June of 2009. 

We currently provide public safety agencies with human and canine search teams.  We are working hard to certify more search specialists, so that we can better serve the agencies that need us.  Our members are committed to increasing public awareness of search and rescue.  AASAR provides informational and educational demonstrations at several community activities each year.

AASAR would like to increase the number of certified wilderness search specialists and canine teams on our roster.  We would also like to increase our search management capabilities and add medical and rescue specialists to our team.
